| | mmmm.... poison ivy....
so yeah. I got poison ivy and it was fun. carnage ensued, and lots of swelling occurred. It was fun, as previously stated. I got to take lots of fun pills and stay in the apartment for like a week straight! Yay!
I went night fishing with some of my friends out at Lake Jacomo. We got there about 10:00 PM, and had to locate firewood by moonlight. I went digging around, in the complete dark, for firewood, located some, and also got into some poison ivy. Then, I brought the firewood back to the campsite, and we started the fire, which was very smokey to begin with. Of course, after getting poison ivy sap all over my hands, and not washing them, I immediately had to spread the sap all over my face while rubbing the smoke out of my eyes.
The symptoms didn't show up until Tuesday Night, and we went on Sunday night. But Wednesday was horrible. Yeah. See for yourself.
Tuesday Day 1: Some minor swelling around eyes, and rash beginning on cheeks
Wednesday Day 2: Major Swelling on face, rash continuing from cheeks onto neck, now covering arms, chest, stomach, legs, and face.
Thursday Day 3: Rash continues, swelling begins to subside, but rash runs rampant over entire body. Application of hydrocortizone cream to control itching.
There were other days, but the swelling had pretty much subsided and it was mainly just rashes that were oozing and scabbing at that point, and you probably wouldn't want to see that.
Yeah. It was definately an experience I'd rather not repeat.
